Kappa Delta Public Relations.

In 2011, I served as VP-Public Relations for Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta at Louisiana State University. What I learned about Public Relations, Advertising, responsibility and being a leader is insurmountable, but here are some of the pieces I made that were seen by the LSU KDs, National KDs and the Baton Rouge Community.

Press Releases and Publishings.

As previously described, Kappa Delta supports two main national philanthropies. Here are some press releases and newspaper clippings I wrote.

Reports.

As a part of my duties as VP-PR, I was responsible for reporting on everything in my chapter, internally and externally, that related to Public Relations and Advertising back to our National Kappa Delta.

Here is my Fall Report.

Our National KD Director of Communications sent each Chapter monthly newsletters as VP-PRs. For the month of October, I was asked to write an advice column for all of the Chapters of Kappa Delta concerning our International Girls Day event.

October Newsletter

Each year, our Chapter sends a newsletter to alumnae describing our past and future events. As VP-PR I had to write about our Shamrock Project.

Fliers.

Kappa Delta support several different philanthropies, but the two biggest philanthropies are Prevent Child Abuse America and Girl Scouts of America. At the Epsilon Chapter at Louisiana State University, we have two main events to raise money and awareness for these amazing groups.

Our Shamrock Project takes place at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Baton Rouge. Our member's spend weeks gathering sponsorships, but on the day of the parade, we sell jambalaya to anyone and everyone. In 2011, it was our 20th year to put on this event. We advertised on Facebook by changing our profile pictures to this image, and by sending updates on our Chapters Page. Computer Screens throughout the university displayed this image to remind students to buy jambalaya tickets.

Kappa Deltas everywhere have a close connection with the Girl Scouts of America. Each chapter is fortunate enough to make a direct impact in the troop members of their area. We strive to instill confidence in these young girls by hosting different educational and fun workshops for them. The biggest one is an annual event that takes place on International Girls Day (November 14). It is a private event for girls of a certain age only, so we sent this flier out as an invitationto the girls from different schools and troops throughout Baton Rouge
